About Us
The pantry was started in 1990 by Phyllis Fell who saw a need to feed those in need in Morrison. In November 2021 we reorganized as a stand-alone 501c3 doing business as Morrison Charitable Food Pantry.
The Pantry obtains the majority of its food from the River Bend Food Bank with supplemental coming from Sauk Valley Food Pantry, Sullivan's Foods and private donations. Cash donations are much appreciated, as we can purchase the food items we truly need, through our Food Bank partners, at a greatly reduced cost.
Our pantry is unique in that we give out what we call "personal care" items which includes, but not to limited to, paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, shampoo & conditioner, soap, personal hygiene items, dish soap, detergent, etc. The community donations of these items help our clients, and the Pantry, as we cannot afford to purchase these items and also supply needed food items.

NEW TO THE PANTRY?
Our Mission is to offer food assistance to qualified residences in the Morrison, Illinois School District.
We are located in the United Methodist Church north entrance on Knox St. (200 Block) Please pull in from Orange Street onto Knox going East, as we are located on the south side of Knox St. We have a "Pantry Open" sign we put out Thursday during our open hours (8:00 A.M. - 10:00A.M). You will not need to leave your car. We come out to each car, obtain your information and then deliver food items to you. Our clients may visit the pantry once in a calendar month. If there is an emergency situation, please talk to one of our staff and we will work with you.
If you are a first time visitor please have the following items available:
-an official ID available, i.e. Illinois Drivers License with current address
-current utility or medical bill or a landlords rental receipt with name and current address
Your current address, and our verification of it via the information you present, is a requirement we have to have on record for each client. You will be required to fill out a registration sheet, with your name, address, phone, and the name and ages of the persons living full time in your household at the time you sign up. Should the number of people change, or you move, please let the staff know and we will update your information.
We also ask that your vehicles be cleaned out so we have space to put your boxes in your vehicle without items getting smashed. Your cooperation in keeping a clean space is greatly appreciated, and helps speed up the process.
